Several minibus and express bus routes to change as of May 1
„Rīgas satiksme” informs that as of May 1, 2019, changes will be made in several minibus and express bus routes operated by full partnership „Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme”.
As of Wednesday, May 1, changes will be made in route maps and schedules of several minibus and express bus routes operated by full partnership „Rīgas mikroautobusu satiksme”.
Changes are planned on the following routes:
- minibuses – No. 204, 209, 214, 237, 246;
- express buses – No. 346, 370.
Minibus No. 204 will run via Ķengarags in both directions, thus ensuring two-way connection between Jugla and Ķengarags. These changes will provide to residents of Ķengarags a more comfortable connection with the city centre, as well as a means of transportation from TC „Akropole”. In the direction to the city centre, the minibus will run from Jugla by the route to Slāvu overpass, then go down to Maskavas Street and run along Prūšu Street, Rušona Street, Salaspils Street, Lubānas Street and further by the route. The working day schedule will be also changed. The route will change name to „Railway Terminal Square – Ķengarags – Jugla”.
Minibus No. 209 will be shortened to Višķu Street in Ķengarags. Now the minibus will run from Purvciems by a shortened route to Maskavas Street, then along Maskavas Street to Višķu Street. From Ķengarags, the minibus will run along Višķu Street, Maskavas Street and further by the route. On this route, both working day and holiday schedules will be changed, but the traffic intensity will be kept the same. The new name of the route will be „Ķengarags – Purvciems”, terminal „T/C Domina Shopping” will change name to „Jorģis Zemitāns Bridge”.
Minibus No. 214 „Centre – Dreiliņi” will be extended to the trade centres located on the roundabout of Biķernieku Street. Now the minibus will run from the existing terminal in Kaivas Street along Kaivas Street, Biķernieku Street to stop „Biķeri” organized at the parking lot next to T/C „IKEA”. From the „Biķeri” stop, the minibus will run to Biķernieku Street, turn about at the crossing of Hipokrāta Street, then run along Kaivas Street and further by the route. The schedule for working days, Saturdays and Sundays will be changed, but not the route’s name.
Minibus No. 237 „Esplanade – Imanta” will have its working day schedule changed to reduce minibus delays caused by traffic jams. The number of runs will not change.
Minibus No. 246 as of May 1 will not from Pļavnieki to the city centre and back. Now minibus No. 246 will run only from Daugavgrīva to the city centre (terminal „MTS”). The number of runs on working days will be increased.
Express bus No. 346 will have its working day schedule changed.
Express bus No. 370 in the direction of Pļavnieki will now run by a changed route straight along Rēzeknes Street to the terminal in Lubānas Street. In addition, the route will be made identical in both directions, i.e. from now on the express bus will run from Imanta also along Ilūkstes Street, Augusta Deglava Street, Andreja Saharova Street and further by the route. The schedules for working days and Sundays will be changed.
